You can play a significant role in the future
of Temple Terace by helping to preserve its past.
The Temple Terrace Preservation Society is a non-profit organization, and we work
very hard to earn funds for our community projects through fund-raising events and
product sales. Private support - through membership fees, donations and gifts - makes
a critical difference in the Society's ability to be an effective steward of the historic
legacy and educational endeavors for the city of Temple Terrace.
ongoing projects & goals:

Oral History Project. Working in conjunction with Dr. Elizabeth Bird of
the College of Anthropology at University of South Florida, TTPS is
videotaping interviews with long-time residents. These personal
memories and recollections provide compelling insight into life in
Temple Terrace over the past 75 years. An invaluable historic
resource, the Oral History videos will soon be available to the
public. Funding for this project was provided by a grant from
the city of Temple Terrace. Dr. Bird generously donated her time.

provided in part by the City of Temple Terrace, through a civic matching

National Register of Historic Places nomination effort |
|
Donating historical books to the Temple Terrace Public Library |
|
Expansion of our collection of historic photographs and memorabilia |
|
A most important long-term goal is a partnership with the city on a
designated location for housing and display of our extensive archives,
artifacts and memorabilia, as well as: provide a venue for showcasing
the Oral History videos; provide visibility for the organization and its
efforts; improve outreach and educational opportunities; and provide
resources and inspiration for restoration of our historic properties.
